About the speaker:
Dr Sergei Kucherenko is an expert on numerical methods and software development for process modeling. His research interests include finite difference, finite element and variational methods, nonlinear partial differential equations, global optimization problems, metamodeling, Monte Carlo and Quasi Monte Carlo methods, global sensitivity analysis and stochastic differential equations. Dr Kucherenko has been involved in the development of numerical methods and object-orientated software for large-scale systems of partial differential-algebraic equations and global optimization; Monte Carlo and Quasi Monte Carlo modeling and applications of global sensitivity analysis. Dr S. Kucherenko held a number of research and faculty positions in various universities in Russia, the United States, Italy and the UK. Currently he holds a position of Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London.
