About the speaker:

I graduated from MFTI in 1977, got PhD in 1980 from Kurchatov Institute,worked in the Landau Institute from 1982 till 1989, spent 3 years on junior positions in the USA, moved to Oxford in 1992, became a professor in 1997 and moved to Brookhaven in 2001 where I work till today.

I was awarded Alexander von Humboldt prize in 2014. I am an author of two books (reprinted in China) and about 200 papers in refereed journals.h=41 and about 6100 citations (self citations excluded).
