A postdoctoral position is immediately available at the laboratory of Prof. Chun Tang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Wuhan.
Prof. Chun Tang is the Director of the Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance in Biological Systems of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Si-Yuan Professor of Zhejiang University, International Early Career Scientist of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), Chief Scientist of Major National Science Research Project.
Prof. Chun Tang’s laboratory is equipped with state-of-art biophysical and analytical instruments (including confocal microscopy equipped with pulsed pico-second laser for single-molecule analysis, small-angle X-ray scattering, and isothermal calorimetry), and has on-site access to 850 MHz, 800 MHz, 700 MHz, and four 600 MHz NMR spectrometers.
Prof. Chun Tang and his group use NMR, biophysical, and computational techniques, to investigate how proteins and other macromolecules alternate their structures, to unravel the mechanisms for protein functions, and to develop novel compounds for modulating protein structure and functions. Recent work was published in ELife, 2015, doi: 10.7554/eLife.05767 and Angew Chem Int Ed, 2014, 53, 11501-11505.
The successfully candidate should be motivated and interested in solving biological problems with quantitative approaches.
