Introduction: Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology have presented great potentials in biological analysis and clinical diagnosis. Magnetic nanocrystals, as the core of a new type magnetic resonance contrast agents, have shown bright future in disease, especially tumor detections. The current international joint project will focus on the interactions between functional inorganic nanoparticles and biological barriers at cell, in vitro model and living animal levels, for further providing experimental and theoretical support for in vivo applications of nanomedicine, especially magnetic particle-based MR contrast agent.
